I just bought my first domain at NameCheap.
Previously I’ve been using GoDaddy, but I’ve been a bit annoyed with their cumbersome interface and their relative high prices on domain privacy renewals ($8.99/year).

NameCheap charge $9.29/year for .com, .net, .org and .biz domains. Using the coupon WHITEXMAS I saved $0.88, so the price ended at $8.41 including 1 year free WhoisGuard.
The domain price includes:
-
Free Email Forwarding (forward emails to another domain)
-
Free URL Forwarding (redirect domain to any other URL)
-
Free Real Time DNS Servers (Dynamic DNS, subdomains, catch-all, etc)
-
1 year free WhoisGuard Privacy Protection
Afterwards the WhoisGuard costs $2.88/year for one domain, $4.88/year for two domains and $7.88/year for five domains.
GoDaddy is a bit cheaper on registrations/renewals ($7.15/year with coupon), but charge $8.99 ($6.99 first year) for their Domains by Proxy private domain registration service.
Anyway, I already like NameCheap’s control panel better, and that was the most important in this case.

I agree - Namecheap is my preferred registrar. I used GoDaddy for a domain that I got thro a special offer and the renewal charge was really high. I always transfer them to Namecheap even if I have to pay again. Their support is prompt and intelligent, too.
